Dr. DeSilva is a licensed clinical psychologist in the Commonwealth of Virginia. He has clinical experience working with individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds on presenting concerns including mood disorders, trauma, relationship concerns, thought disorders and other mental health challenges. Dr. DeSilva specializes in psychological assessment and offers comprehensive testing batteries focusing on personality functioning and on diagnostic clarification for individuals or licensed professionals wanting a differential diagnosis.

He also offers gender transition-related services such as WPATH letters and psychotherapy for transgender individuals seeking trans* affirming care. Psychological testing is a powerful tool that can provide a great deal of information as well as recommendations for appropriate treatment. Dr. DeSilva obtained his Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) degree at George Washington University. He completed his predoctoral psychology internship in the APA-accredited program at Howard University Counseling Services. Other settings in which Dr. DeSilva has provided clinical services have included GWU Hospital, GWU Center Clinic, DC Superior Court--Child Guidance Clinic, and Howard University Hospital. Dr. DeSilva is a member of the American Psychological Association, as well as APA Divisions 39 (Psychoanalysis), 42 (Independent Practice), 44 (LGBTQ+ Studies), and the Society for Personality Assessment.
