Laura Seibert, LCSW
September 11, 2001 marked a change in Laura’s life and she decided to pursue a career where she could be of service to others experiencing life’s difficulties. Laura left the corporate world and received a master’s degree in social work from Virginia Commonwealth University, and she is now a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
As program manager of outpatient treatment for Charlottesville/ Albemarle court system for the past several years, she treated individuals and families with substance abuse, and dependence, and/or coexisting mental illness. She has also worked in private practice with individuals coping with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, self-injury, personality disorders and with trauma, PTSD, and other stress-related disorders. Laura has recently received additional training for, and looks forward to working with, military personnel returning from combat. In addition, she offers NADA acupuncture, dialectical behavior therapy, and perform interventions with substance abusers and their families. Laura operates from a person-centered approach that all people have the innate ability to overcome life’s difficulties to live the best lives possible.
