Good afternoon,
I sponsor/guide an Alateen group in Chesapeake and wanted to reach out to you and your staff to let them know of this program. If you are not familiar, it is a 12-step program and is part of Al-Anon, but for teenagers. As you well know, there are many teens out there who have someone in their life, possibly a parent, who is abusing alcohol. This is a place for them to go and get help to learn how to deal with the situations that life brings up. It is free, no pressure, not a religious program, does not require any ‘enrollment’, and the adult sponsors, like myself, must be cleared by a background check and other criteria to conduct a meeting.
I would be happy to talk to you more about this, but wanted to at least provide the attached flyer for you to distribute freely as you see fit.
With regards and in service,
Mark M.

I wonder if you might be interested in presenting to the Tidewater Brain injury Support Groups on your area of expertise. We’ve had Dr. Parker in to speak and would be intersted to hearing more about psychotherapy for individuals with brain injuries: TBI’s strokes, anoxia, etc. We are especially interested in identifying local therapists who work in this area or would be interested in learning more about brain injury throguh specialized material we can provide.
